Modern Slavery Policy
Techner is committed to conducting its business in an ethical and responsible manner and to preventing any form of modern slavery or human trafficking within our operations or supply chain. We recognize that modern slavery is a serious human rights abuse that can have devastating consequences for the individuals affected by it.
Scope:
This policy applies to all employees, agents, and representatives of Techner, as well as to any third parties that we engage to act on our behalf. It covers all aspects of our business, including business development, procurement, and execution of contracts.
Definition of Modern Slavery:
For the purposes of this policy, “modern slavery” refers to the recruitment, harbouring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labour or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of exploitation. This includes but is not limited to:
- Forced labour
- Debt bondage
- Child labour
- Human trafficking
Prohibited Conduct:
Techner prohibits all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chain. We will not engage in or support any activities that could contribute to modern slavery or human trafficking, and we will not do business with any third party that we believe may be involved in such activities.
Compliance Measures:
Techner will implement appropriate measures to prevent and detect modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chain, including:
- Providing training and guidance to employees on modern slavery and human trafficking laws and best practices
- Establishing internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with this policy.
- Conducting due diligence on third parties to assess their compliance with this policy.
- Implementing a confidential reporting system for employees to report any concerns about potential violations of this policy.
Consequences of Non-Compliance:
Violations of this policy will not be tolerated. Any employee or third party who engages in modern slavery or human trafficking, or who fails to report a suspected violation, will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Techner will also cooperate with any investigations into alleged violations of modern slavery and human trafficking laws and will take all necessary remedial action to address any identified issues.
Monitoring and Review:
Techner is committed to regularly reviewing and updating our Modern Slavery policy to ensure that we are meeting our obligations and to identify any areas for improvement. We encourage all employees to report any concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking and to seek guidance if they have any doubts about the appropriateness of a business conduct.
